DNS Propagation Checker

Whats My DNS is designed to Check DNS Resolution for a given domain. It is specially useful for those people who have recently changed their Nameservers or DNS Records. It queries the entered domain's DNS Records via various locations globally and shows the IPv4 & IPv6 Addresses of a domain which helps to recognize either the updated DNS Records are yet propagated globally.

Why is my DNS not yet propagating?

The ISPs across the world have a different caching level. The DNS client or the server may cache the information the DNS records in its DNS cache. That information is temporarily cached, and DNS servers will go for the updated DNS information when TTL (Time to Live) expires.

What is DNS resolution?

DNS resolution is the conversion of the hostname(s) to IP address(es). And DNS resolver is the first stop in the DNS lookup process. It is responsible for dealing with the client that makes the initial request. The DNS resolver starts the sequence of queries that ultimately lead to converting URL or hostname into the required IP address.

Can propagation be expedited?

Nothing can expedite the DNS propagation process. Usually, nameserver changes take a maximum of 48 to 72 hours to propagate fully. However, DNS zone record changes such as A, MX, and CNAME records can usually take 0 to 4 hours to resolve but can take a maximum of 8 hours to propagate fully.
